Hey, I'm Mack.
I'm a designer, creative director, and leader based out of Ridgefield, WA. The deeper I get into the creative field, the more I realize that the principles of good design are universal—they don't just apply to logos or websites, they shape the way we think, solve problems, and tell stories. I believe that these principles can elevate any project, no matter the industry or medium.
I've had the privilege of working with brands and companies that really resonate with me. My work tends to fall into a few key categories, each reflecting something I care deeply about. I like to think of them as the three main flavors of my work:
Trailmix & Taps – This is the "dude stuff" that speaks to my love for the Northwest, good food, and craft beverages. I've worked with brands like Old Trapper, Georgetown Brewing, Backwoods Brewing, Brothers Cascadia Brewing, and Lamiglas. These brands embody the spirit of enjoying the outdoors, savoring simple pleasures like a refreshing IPA after a day out on the water, and getting your hands a little dirty. It's a space where authenticity and passion take center stage.
Mom & Kiddo Approved – As a dad, this one hits home. I've had the opportunity to work on brands that focus on family, childhood, and all the joy that comes with it. From The Jim Henson Company (creators of the Muppets) to Annie's Mac & Cheese, and kid-centric brands like AppleTV's Slumberkins, this work reflects the things that matter most to my own family. It's about creating spaces and experiences that kids—and parents—love and connect with. And of course, the more I love my family, the more I find myself loving the things that they love.
Better Together – The projects that mean the most to me are the ones that help make the world a better place. I've worked with community-focused organizations like Clark County Food Bank, local schools, and my church. These projects aren't just about design—they're about contributing to something bigger, leaving a lasting impact, and lifting up my community. Whether it's designing a mascot for my alma mater or creating camp t-shirts, this is the work I'd be doing even if I wasn't pursuing a career in design.
Design is amazing, but it's not everything. The best part of my life is my family, and I couldn't talk about myself without mentioning them. I'm a husband and a father and I'm incredibly lucky to share my life with people who love me unconditionally. I'm an introvert at heart, but that doesn't mean I don't love people—I just prefer quality over quantity. Most of my time goes to my family and friends we call family. We're pretty much always in the middle of some house project. You'll often find me at Home Depot on a Friday night (not exactly your typical date night, but mama needs new tile in the master bathroom, and we're prolific DIYers).
Family comes first, and everything else falls into place around that. It's not just about the work I do; it's about the people I'm doing it for. When you get down to it, the brands I choose to work with reflect that deeply, and I'm proud of how their missions align with what matters most to me.
